Chirundu Town Council (CTC) recently awarded 14 promotional certificates to deserving firefighters in recognition of their commitment to routine examinations and continuous training aimed at improving emergency response and service delivery to the community.
Speaking during the award ceremony, CTC Council Chairperson Nevers Muchindu commended the firefighters for their dedication to professional growth, noting that promotional examinations play a critical role in enhancing efficiency within the fire section.
“I encourage all our officers to continue embracing promotional exams because they strengthen your skills, improve your preparedness, and ensure that communities receive efficient and reliable service. Continue working hard and serving the people of Chirundu diligently,” he said.
Meanwhile, CTC Council Secretary Embassy Cheembo hailed the fire section for consistently conducting routine exams, describing the initiative as a major contributor to their exceptional discharge of duty.
“The commitment shown by the fire section in undertaking routine promotional examinations is commendable and sets a strong example of professionalism. I also urge the Council Police to emulate this practice, as continuous assessment is key to improving performance across all departments,” Mr. Cheembo stated.
And Station Fire Officer Tumeyo Muwowo reaffirmed the fire section’s commitment to regular training programmes aligned with their mandate of safeguarding communities.
“We conduct routine training and examinations to ensure full preparedness when responding to emergencies. This helps us sharpen our skills and stay ready to protect life and property,” he said.
The Council reiterates its commitment to supporting capacity-building initiatives that empower frontline officers to deliver high-quality services to the residents of Chirundu District.
